Development Administration Program responsibilities:
- Eligibility
Maintenance Activities:

Maintain active board membership involvement.

Supply the Economic Development Representative
with timely information on plant closures, prospective plant closures
and the number of employees affected.
- Economic
Development Activities:

Promote the Northeast Missouri (NEMO)
Region as a conducive place for job development.

Assist the communities of the NEMO
Region in the formulation and implementation of programs intended
to develop their available resources in order to enhance the local
economy by providing new gainful and permanent employment for the
unemployed and underemployed. Preserve and create jobs by assisting
businesses and industry in the utilization of job development and
training programs.

Develop knowledge and working relationship
with the personnel and programs of all pertinent federal, state and
local agencies involved with economic development.

Promote utilization of the Small Business
Administration (SBA) 504 and 7 (a) loan programs as an economic development
tool for the expansion of an existing business or the creation of
a new business.

Promote the formal business marketing
program, which includes the updating, publishing and distributing
of promotional literature detailing the community profiles of the
region.
- Community
Development Activities:

Endeavor to make energy conservation
an integral part of the economic development planning process and
its resultant plans and programs.

Provide assurance to EDA that environmental
considerations will be incorporated into the work program consistent
with the provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969.

Develop and maintain a working knowledge
of all federal, state and local programs for community and economic
development and assist the local governments in the needed assistance.

Assist communities in economic development
efforts including infrastructure development.

Involve citizens, businesses and the industrial community in
the economic development planning of the area.
- Involvement
in the Planning Process:
-
Encourage business, industry and citizens involvement in every
aspect of the economic development process from planning to implementation
and maintenance.

Disseminate pertinent economic development
information.
